One night of music. For the first time, the theatre of Akronafplia Castle hosts a live orchestra and electronic sound on the same stage. Art Monia hosts, in collaboration with the National Council of Clubs and Centres for UNESCO, under the auspices of the UNESCO Club of Argolis, co-organized by the Region of Peloponnese, together with ondéa and organized by European Horizons Media Group, the “Akronafplia Theater Experience - Vasilis Live with Orchestra”, on Sunday 13 September 2026, at the Akronafplia Castle Theatre “Evangelia Deilaki” in Nafplio. The performance Vasilis Live with Orchestra moves along the boundaries of live orchestral music and contemporary electronic sound a hybrid musical landscape where different eras, sounds and aesthetics meet and transform on stage. At the heart of the project is Vasilis, composer, producer and live performer, one of the most distinctive creators of the contemporary Greek electronic scene. Through a live performance on piano, synthesizers and electronic elements, he leads a live orchestra and shapes a constantly evolving sonic environment. Strings, electronic sounds and voices create a multidimensional result that moves between memory, pulse and contemporary artistic expression. Original compositions and arrangements, live improvisation and atmospheric soundscapes: the organic sound of the orchestra meets the energy, pulse and repetition of electronic music, while lighting in dialogue with the music reveals the architecture of the Akronafplia Theatre. Sound, light and space become one scenic body. Byzantines, Franks, Venetians and Ottomans each built upon the walls of the other; it was here that Kolokotronis received the city in 1822, and here, for a few years, beat the heart of the first capital of Greece. About the organizers Art Monia was born from a group of young people from Nafplio with a passion for house and electronic music and influences from the great European scenes. After two Art Monia Festivals at Fougaro ArtCenter, the team is united by a steady vision: to bring something fresh to their city, with respect for its history and an eye to the future. “Akronafplia Theater Experience” is the next step the first time this youthful energy meets a monument.
